Pull into camp and be settled in seconds. The 23ZERO Armadillo AX3 is a premium aluminum hard shell rooftop tent engineered for all-season overlanding — combining rapid deployment, queen-size comfort, and rugged all-weather protection in one aerodynamic package that mounts on trucks, SUVs, and off-road rigs of every size.

The gas-strut-assisted X-frame deploys and stows in seconds with minimal effort — no poles, no guesswork, no fumbling in the dark after a long drive. The side-opening configuration works on either left or right side, adapting to virtually any vehicle setup without compromising aerodynamics or clearance on the trail. Once open, the raised structure delivers up to 46 inches of headroom at its peak and panoramic 360° views through oversized mesh-screened windows on all sides — the kind of basecamp experience that makes you forget you're sleeping on top of your vehicle.

Inside, a queen-size sleeping platform (75"W × 82"L) is outfitted with a 2" open-cell foam mattress and anti-condensation mat for genuinely restorative sleep. 23ZERO's exclusive ECO13B fabric with Light Suppression Technology keeps the interior up to 15% cooler and blocks nearly all light — so you sleep past sunrise even on bright mornings. Dimmable integrated LED lighting, interior storage pockets, a clear rainfly for stargazing, and a preinstalled roof rack for solar panels or recovery gear round out a thoughtfully designed overland living space built for serious adventurers.

Heavy-duty latches seal out rain, snow, and dust. Built for four seasons, every terrain, and every kind of adventure.

Care & Use

To maximize the life of your 23Zero gear and ensure your lifetime warranty remains valid, please follow these essential maintenance guidelines.

Storage and Moisture Control
• Never store your tent wet. If you must pack up while the tent is damp, you must open it and let it air dry completely as soon as possible.
• Avoid Mildew: Storing a damp tent is the fastest way to cause mildew and moisture damage, which is not covered under warranty.
• Condensation: To prevent internal humidity, always promote airflow by opening vents and windows. Store wet items like towels or boots outside the tent.

Cleaning Instructions
• General Cleaning: Use only cold water and a soft brush to clean the fabric. Do not use soaps or detergents as they can damage the waterproof coatings.
• Interior: Regularly sweep or vacuum out dust and dirt from the inside of the tent.
• Stains: For stubborn stains, use only mild, non-detergent cleaners specifically designed for technical fabrics.

Hardware & Zipper Care
• Mounting Hardware: Regularly check that all nuts and bolts attaching the tent to your vehicle are tight and in good repair.
• Zipper Maintenance: Keep zippers free of sand and grit. Use a soft brush to remove debris and apply a specialized zipper lubricant periodically to ensure smooth operation.
• Transit Covers: For soft-shell models, wipe the cover with a damp cloth and apply a silicone-free UV protectant to prevent sun damage.

Safe Operation
• Ladder Safety: Always ensure the ladder is locked at the correct angle (approx. 70° to 75°) before entering the tent. Never climb inside if the ladder is not secured.
• No Heat Sources: Keep all flame and heat sources away from the tent. Never use fuel-burning devices or naked flames inside or near the tent fabric.
• Bedding: While you can store thin blankets inside, do not over-pack bedding. Excessive pressure when closing can damage hinges and zippers, which is not covered by warranty.

Installation

Verify your vehicle’s maximum roof load capacity as specified by the manufacturer. Confirm the load rating of your roof rack or bed rack, especially for off-road use. Allow additional clearance at the front or rear of the tent if mounted close to a truck cab to ensure proper latch operation.
